The Little Things...

What i love most about spring are the little things that appear.

So I realized today around 2 pm that I have about 10 hours of reading to do for classes this week.

AND two papers.

This is not a wonderful start to spring!

But i did decide that i would have MUCH less trouble studying if i was in this cute little ensemble...

And maybe one of these marvelous drinks...

HAIR!!!

So i have decided that in the spirit of spring... I want new hair.

I want to get some highlights to give me a more "sunny" glow.

and I decided on a new style icon for my hair....

Britney Spears. I know.... Its crazy since she was bald two years ago... but I have been looking at some of her recent pictures and i envy her hair soooo much.

Now i would never go THIS blonde... but i just love the styles for a summer day!

But i was thinking more of this color....

It is a BEAUTIFUL st. Patricks Day here in philadelphia! It is 57 degrees outside, but it feels like 70! the sun is bright and shining!

and i am stuck studying for a mid term tomorrow morning : (

oh well... i will procrastinate a little more and imagine that if i WERE going out tonight... this is definitly my dream outfit!

All lovely lilly of course!!! I am having a bit of spring fever if you cant tell! CANT WAIT!!!

Florida recap...

I AM BACK FROM FLORIDA!!!!

it was perhaps one of the most relaxing weeks of my life... and very much needed!!!

Another completely unflattering but hilarious picture. I was just soooo excited to be on the beach after our 15 hour car ride!

And last...but not a least... a picture of all of the girls on the beach before dinner one night!

It was ... to say the least.. amazing! I also had the chance to stop at the outlets in St. Augustine, FL. WHICH WERE AMAZING!!!!!!! i spent way too much time in the Jcrew outlet but got a cute couple of items... i am feeling a trip to another JCrew Outlet for my birthday??? hopefully!!!

I also managed to pick up a new Ralph Lauren polo dress! I just cant seem to have enough of these.. Except i couldnt decide what color to get! I ended up narrowing it down to hot pink and Navy blue.. and eventually my practical side took over and i got the navy. I cant wait for it to be 20 degrees warmer so i can wear all of my cute spring clothes!!

On another note.. on break i started a new book called "Lady In Waiting"

It is such a wonderful read and i suggest it for any single christian ladies out there!!!

well now i am back in the real world and have to write a paper : /

SISTERS <3

Just a quick update because that is ALL i have time for! Thank goodness Spring Break starts friday! I am going to NYC for the weekend with my mom, grandma, and little sister! it should be an fabulous girls weekend! I am then going to florida monday with a few of my sorority sisters! We have a house right on the beach so it should be AMAZING!!!!!!!

I went home this past weekend and had an absolute ball hanging with my little sisters. I miss them SOOOOOO much sometimes. It is so great that now that we are all getting older (E is 16 and just got her liscense today!) we have become even closer! A is 11 and is soooo amazing. She is a gymnast and has such a God-given talent for the sport. She is absolutely amazing at it and is a level 8 at the age of 11 (for those of you who dont know.. gymnastics only goes up to 10 levels technically) She is the youngest at her gym to be that high.. by two years! I am so unbeleivably proud of her and her great progress. E and I went to church together sunday and it was so nice to bond that way with her!

Avoiding life and work. so i blog.

So i am just down in the dumps.

even though i ordered a new headband tonight (see previous post!) ...

I just found out that my roomate has strep. We share EVERYTHING!

This means there is like a 120% chance i am going to get strep as well.

I DO NOT HAVE TIME TO GET SICK!

I DONT EVEN HAVE TIME TO DO HOMEWORK BEFORE 10 at night!

i am obviously just feeling a bit emotional... it has become more and more common in my life apparently. I was watching the oscars last night and cried when Kate Winslet asked her dad to whistle to her while she gave her acceptance speech for best actress. Is this normal???

I think it may just be exhaustion. which makes sense.. because I have a to-do list that is over a mile long...

1. Write this Bible paper for tomorrow! (2 pm to be exact)

2. send emails about support for my sororites huge philanthropy Dance-A-Thon (similar to penn state's THON but obviously on a smaller scale)

3. Write paper for my US history course

4. Make appointment with academic counselor to make sure i am still on track!

5. read Tolstoy's Kruetzer Sonata

6. Apply for two jobs! (one would be ideal.. the other would work. i will give more information at another time )

7. sleep.

i know there are at least 5 more things... but being me i lost my list. so write now i just have a to-do jumble in my head. not really any kind of organized system. this must be dealt with ASAP!

on the plus side... my sorority sisters and BEST friends are being super supportive of my crazy week. One of my BESTEST friends... lets call her J is taking me out for coffee and yoga tomorrow afternoon during my free hour inbetween classes! I have no idea where i would be without these girls!

Obsession. Compulsion. Headbands.

Okay so i have a MAJOR issue...

it is a bit of an obsession to be honest.

Headbands. I know.. nothing new right? However, in the past week alone i havebought 3 headbands. In the past month i think the total is at 9? I have to own at least 50. I just think they pull any outfit together so beautifully...Adding a classy and fabulous touch to anything! I have been searching the internet ( avoiding writing a bible paper i have due TOMORROW!!!!) and i just wanted to show a few of my favorites : )

This one is from... Forever 21! I hardly ever shop here but i saw this and thought it was absolutely adorable!

Of course every girl needs a Southern Proper headband! I LOVE this crimson elephant one ( School colors so i can wear it to games, etc.)

I JUST DISCOVERED this beauty! I love green... it is so preppy and wonderful! and this headband was on Gossip Girl for all of you fans! It is from the Pink Olive Boutique ... I just wish i could jusitfy spending the money on it (it is a hot penny for this beauty) ... but being a student and going on springbreak in two weeks.. i know it isnt really practical : (

Well there we go... hopefully three new additions to my headband drawer will be coming to me soon! (yes i do have a whole DRAWER in my bathroom for my headbands.. if you know a better way to store them please share!)

So after another short intermission...

I need to get into a better schedule... this whole blog thing keeps me sane.. which i could use a little bit more of in my CRAZY life right now.

So i am doing this instead of studying for my Russian Culture test that i have at 10 AM tomorrow : /

On the bright side... Valentine's day was absolutely LOVELY! I spent the day out with my favorite girls! I was asked by a certain boy : ) to go out.. but in the end i knew i would have a stressless and amazing time going out with my sorority sisters ( and Future roommates!) This picture isnt from saturday ( I am being lazy and havent uploaded them yet..) but these are a few of my main ladies! This is from my FAVORITE musical i was ever a part of.. Beauty and The Beast! It was one of the smaller parts i played.. A silly girl (aka- Guaston's obnoxious stalker) but it was sooooo much fun! I am in the yellow on the left! It definitly isnt a flattering picture of any of the ladies pictured (including myself) but i think it captured a really fun moment!

Okay well enough procrastination! I have yoga-lates tomorrow at 7 (YIKES!) so i better get started... I am thinking something casually classy for tomorrow-- i have lots of little errands and work to do! I am definitly loving this look on Mandy Moore.. so effortless but still she doesnt look like a slob! plus i have been in love with everything Mandy since A Walk To Remember...

ahhhh!!! I have missed blog world soooooo much! I cant beleive i have gone over two weeks without posting! school/sorority life has been absolutely crazy!

so i just found out that myself and three of my sorority sisters will be going to FLORIDA for SPRING BREAK! now i am not a huge party girl or big on the whole "spring break" scene... but i am ridiculously excited because we rented a beautiful house on the beach .... and the girls i am going with are amazing! I cannot wait to just lay on the beach with a book! however... my body is not exactly bikini ready! so i think i will relyl try the wholediet kick now... i havebeen trying to work out more and eat healthy... which is already giving me tons more energy.... but i need something a little more quick than just eating healthier lol. any ideas??????????

On a similar note.. i am so excited to go on vacation that i have started my shopping/internet browsing already! I just love spring/summer and all of the preppy fashion and wonderful colors that go along with it! So my idea for this late march/early april trip is to get cute pieces that definitly could be used again...but dont necessarily cost that much. My parents are paying for me to have this mental break because they have seen how hard i have been working this year (Dean's list here we come!) but i dont want to ask for more money for clothes etc. I also dont want to buy a really expensive pieces that i would be worried about ruinning the whole time i am on the beach! So one of my sisters suggested to look for cute coverups, etc. on Delias.com! as i glanced at this website i realized it had a few things i absolutely LOVED that would look adorable over a bathing suit or even just thrown on to grab lunch in town or something!

Snow....

So it is snowing!!!! and I am back at school in Philly! I am so overly excited to be back and i get to restart classes on tuesday. I have spent the whole day unpacking and attempting to get my miniature room reorganized. I also applied to be a camp counselor this summer at Camp Vega in Maine. I was really unsure of what exactly i wanted to do this year while not in school.. but i finally figured out that working in a fun and exciting atmosphere with little girls would be the most rewarding experience i could ask for!

Okay so goals for the semester..

1. i need as close to a 4.0 as possible in my classes. Only two more semesters to make sure i have the 3.5 i need for my history Honors Society.

2. Stay organized... last semester was a bit hectic with rushing my sorority and everything.. but i know this semester will be better!

3. My best friend says we are going on Man-Fasts for the semester so we can focus on friends and fun.. and not the drama that seems to come along with dating the frat guys we are friends with. I plan to stick with this little fast. : p

4. I HAVE to start swimming again. If i get the job at the girls summer camp i will have to teach young girls to swim... and i wouldnt expect them to trust or respect me if i looked like i have never swam in my life.

On another note.. i got back into my building to watch the Eagles vs. cardinals game. It was fun to watch it in the city and I made the BEST brownies (dark chocolate with rollos and dark chocolate chips) to bring to our little party.. lets say the guys definitly appreciated it!

SO.

it has happened. Single girl is "talking to a guy". I know. its been a while... trust me i know.

I guess i can fill in you lovely ladies with a little information. I need advice!

So i met this wonderful Sailor ( yes he is in the Navy ...) at the Navy vs. Army football game.

he was friendly and cute and a friend of a friend. so we chatted for a while. it was quite pleasent.

so then he friend requested me on facebook that night... ( i gave him brownie points for the speed of the request). and we chatted online a few times and he got my number from the mutual friend. and he texts me ... and leaves cute comments on my photos online and everything... but thats all.

he seems really interested. But i am at a loss .. i have no idea what he is looking for. he seems to have very good morals and he is so sincere. but still.. maybe i just have trust issues??? oh well we will see! I will keep you updated!

I am growing my hair out... because of Blair. I am just inlove with her flowing locks and we have similar colored hair. . . so i am obsessing over it!

So today i found the PERFECT drink when you are on the run and dont have time to eat!!! It seriously filled me up enough to run around with a 5 and a 7 year old all night at swim practice!! ( i seriously love babysitting them... but it wears me out!)

The drink is the Vivanno Chocolate Banana with a shot of expresso at starbucks! I was very wary to try this drink... it sounded gross to me... but i loved it!!!!!!

So i went to see Bride Wars today with my mama and sister!!!

It was soooooooo cute! and while hathaway and hudson do not look like glowing brides in this picture... trust me .. they both are absolutely lovely!

the only bad part about seeing the movie was that there was a group of middle school kids sitting behind us : ( they made the ugliest comments when Kate tried on the beautiful vera wang wedding dress....

Oh well i guess everyone cant have the best taste like me : p

So now i am spending yet another night in while bugging the heck out of my family because i JUST WANT TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL! I will be taking some amazing courses this semester soooo i am super excited! so now that i am sitting here watching two weeks notice ( a personal fave) i have decided to show you some of my personal favorite pictures : )

First!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have oficially decided it is time to reorganize my life. Create more "me" time. What better time then the promise filled month following a new year?!?!?!?




After almost stalking all of the lovely ladies with classy, preppy blogs out there in blog land, I have finally decided to jump on the band wagon and make one of my own!! and I am soooooo excited!


So a few key points about me...

1. I am a history major in Philadelphia and on a pre law track.

2. I MAY (hopefully) be transfering schools back down south (where i grew up) in the fall. I am especially looking at Sweet Briar College.

3. I am currently single... but not really looking. I know, I know... I cant lie. I am looking. But it is better make sure I am 100% happy with myself before i try to make someone else happy. It is really only fair.

4. I love kids and want to have them ASAP (well... after college). I will hopefully be a camp counselor this summer!

5. I am a sorority girl and have made the very best friends because of it!

6. I have a chocolate lab named Jill. She is the sweetest dog you will ever meet.

and a few new years resolutions.... I really REALLY need to stick to them this year!


1. Get a job. I havent worked and been a student yet... but I think having a job will be a wonderful addition to my sched this semester.

2. Get into better shape. If losing weight goes along with this than i will be extra happy!

3. Take one day at a time! I need to make sure I dont rush through anything. These are supposed to be the best days of my life, right?

So while I am waiting out the rest of winterbreak (which seems to be ridiculously long this year) I am spending my days reorganizing, reading, and watching TV. I know... that is a nicer way to say I am being really REALLY lazy. Today especially I spent my day with a few of my favorite things....
